About Brad Hamilton
Welcome to Hamilton Paintings.
I started oil painting back in 2014 for the first time. I bought my first kit and canvas as it was something I just wanted to do. I always enjoyed art and crafts while growing up and in High School, but I never pursued it as a career. Currently, I am working on my skills to become a professional artist and attending the Art Mastery Program with coaching at the Milan Art Institute.
When I first began painting, I was never explicitly trained in any technique. Although, I took painting training in 2015 from the late artist Leonid Afremov. His art is very beautiful to me, and that is what I told myself I would like to emulate. I spent hours and weeks studying him and his techniques, as he did it easily. Although he could paint daily, I have yet to have that luxury. He continues to influence how I paint and the types of paintings I do.
Painting is very expressive and something I wish I had more time to do. I love using palette knives to paint my oil paintings making them surreal, and creating patterns of colors that pop to the eye, although I do use brushes as well for more fine artwork. I like using mixtures of colors to swipe with the knife and strive to make the painting to come alive. Often, I let the first layer of paint dry and then work on top of that layer, and continue to that pattern until I get what I'm looking for in the painting.
Thank you for visiting and I would be honored if you purchased any of my work for your home or office. I would be truly grateful.
Thank you,
Brad Hamilton
